Weather permitting, HRAP staff and volunteers can be found on the beach at Haystack Rock during many daytime low-tide hours.
The
program we offer features:
- Trained Rocky Shore Interpreters
(staff and volunteers)
- Interpretive signs and educational brochures
- Bird Stations with Spotting Scopes
- Display tanks and microscopes (during special Aquaria Displays)

Haystack Rock is a protected Marine Garden and National Wildlife
Refuge. Collection within 300 yards around Haystack Rock without a permit is strictly
prohibited. All climbing above the barnacle line is also prohibited.

“World of Haystack Rock” Library Lecture Series
Click here to download this season’s Library Lecture poster. Free and open to the public, this lecture series is co-sponsored by the Friends of Haystack Rock and the Cannon Beach Library. They are held on the first Thursday of the month, from November through April, starting at 7pm at the Cannon Beach Library, 131 N Hemlock Street.
