Sustainability Action Plan
for Cannon Beach.

The Cannon Beach City Council appointed a Sustainability Ad Hoc Committee at its January 6, 2009, meeting. The Committee is charged with developing an action plan outlining steps that the City can take to enhance the sustainability of its operations, programs, and regulations. It was anticipated that functional areas of the action plan would include energy, transportation, waste management, land use and development, natural resource and public education and outreach.

The committee prepared an action plan which ranks identified action items within each of the broad categories, energy, transportation, land use, development, building and infrastructure, waste management, natural resources and other. The City Council adopted the Sustainability Action Plan at its May 5, 2009 regular meeting.
