The Building Department provides plan review for construction and remodeling plans for buildings within the city limits. This plan review, along with subsequent structural, plumbing and mechanical inspections, assures compliance with state building codes.

Purchase the City of Cannon Beach Structural, Plumbing and Mechanical Permits at City Hall or download permit forms here and fax to (503-436-8049) attention Building Department for processing.

Backflow Assembly Testers are required to obtain licensing through the Construction Contractors Board (CCB) or the Landscape Contractors Board (LCB) if they provide their services for a fee. CCB and LCB licenses have not been verified for individuals on this list.

Electrical Permits are issued by Clatsop County Building Codes Division, located at 800 Exchange Street, Suite100, in Astoria. Click here to access an Electrical Permit Application.

For Inspections: Please telephone the Building Department, Inspection Line option at 503-436-8045. Must phone before 9:00 a.m. for same-day inspections. Building inspection requests may also be emailed to bradshaw@ci.cannon-beach.or.us.
DO NOT leave inspection requests with the Building Official.

Electrical inspections are performed by Clatsop County. Call the County at 503-338-3698.
